Auri is an absolute ball of energy, and well being in my thirties I don’t have as much energy as I would love to have. So Auri and I play fetch, she gets to run around in the sun, and I can do minimal effort. Okay, I’m not lazy even if it sounds like it. In actuality it is Auri’s favorite thing to do, if we go outside she won’t step a foot out the door unless she has her ball with her. It is so very cute.
You all know how much Tesla loves the snow, but it seems like Auri does as well. She runs like a crazy dog when there is snow on the ground. This is great because we were worried that because of her short coat she wouldn’t like it!
So glad our worries were unfounded!
Auri is quickly gaining weight and height. We still are not sure if she will be more Border Collie Size or Labrador size but we will see. Currently she is about the same size as Tesla height size with longer legs and torso. She is a naturally slim dog so I doubt she weighs as much as Tesla.
More of her personality is showing too! She loves the snow and playing fetch, she is also a snuggler (and licker). She is starting to calm down a little which is a good sign but we are working on teaching her not to jump on you when she is excited. She also has that puppy excited pee that we are hoping she grows out of!
So I think this is mostly on Cheeto, but her and Auri don’t seem to want to be around each other. Cheeto hisses and swats, while Auri yelps and tucks herself into her body. However, there are times when they seem almost friendly. The other day I caught Cheeto actually cleaning Auri. Now, Cheeto gets along with the other two kids (Tesla and Mordechai) but since we’ve got Auri she just does not seem like she wants to be nice. Hoping she grows out of it.
So, Auri has pretty much settled right in here at the household. Tesla and her play a lot which I love. At 16 weeks she has received the last of her puppy shots and now can be fully introduced into society. She is scheduled for a spay in March, so crossing my fingers for that. So far the only places she has been to is the vet so we are going to try to make sure she knows that car rides do not always mean shots and stuff in the butt.
Telsa and Auri get along well. They play almost constantly which is great. Cheeto and Mordechai don’t really like the puppy energy and are waiting for it to die down. She has a long way to go as far as potty training is concerned, and we are trying to teach her not to jump and lick people to death.
Other than that, it’s going pretty smoothly!
Over the Thanksgiving holiday we added a new member to our household. Meet Aurelian a Border Collie and Labrador mix!
We are currently getting to know our new little girl, who is just a bundle of puppy energy. We are currently in the process of potty training and teaching it’s not okay to bite mommy and daddy’s face.
